Byakugan Overview & Abilities
Unlike other dōjutsu, the Byakugan is normally available to its users from the time of their birth. In rarer occasions, the dōjutsu can be awakened. Himawari Uzumaki, for example, who is a descendant of the clan through her mother, generally has blue eyes. When her Byakugan is activated, she gains the characteristic white, featureless eyes of her ancestors. The Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the first thoracic vertebra. The range of this vision varies between users and in fact can be improved with training.
Arguably, its greatest ability is to see chakra to a greater degree than the Sharingan: It can identify chakra by the specific individuals it originates from, determine when genjutsu is being used, and discern certain types of clones from the real thing. The Byakugan's ability to see chakra is so acute that it can actually see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that run along it. The Hyūga have devised a style of combat known as the Gentle Fist that specifically takes advantage of this, wherein they strike an opponent's tenketsu to either seal or forcibly open these tenketsu, thus giving the user complete control over their opponent's chakra.
It also grants incredible clarity and insight, able to clearly see and analyse all minute details, even at high-speeds, granting a highly accurate sense of prediction to anticipate the flow of events and actions of others. It can determine the development of one's chakra, even tell if one can mould chakra at all.
Its vision can penetrate through any solid objects or obstructions, though certain things may distort the Byakugan's perception to a degree.
Prolonged use of the Byakugan causes temporary but severe eye-strain, temporarily leaving wielders unable to properly perceive targets.
(Side Note: People who get the transplant for the byakugan will not be able to turn it off at will, meaning, reverting back to their original eye. The only people that can do this is Himwari.)
Byakugan System
The byakugan system is simple, it costs 1 chakra point every post when the dojutsu is active, and 5 chakra points for those who aren't Hyuga. By training you can turn that 1 chakra point into 0.5, and your 5 into a 2.5, Anyone at any rank can activate this dojutsu. To see further and to see the elemental affinities in other ninja, you will have to train your eye sight.
SIGHT TRAINING
To perform sight training, you need to create a training topic. Below are a list of meters you can obtain through training along with the number of post you need to complete it. You are to meet the required word count that the site enforces which is 300 words or more.
A Hyuga can naturally see to 50 meters away at the start of the rp.
70 Meters = 3 posts
80 Meters = 3 posts
90 Meters = 3 posts
100 Meters = 4 posts
120 Meters = 4 posts
140 Meters = 4 posts
200 Meters = 4 posts
300 Meters = 5 posts
400 Meters = 5 posts
500 Meters = 5 posts
600 Meters = 5 posts
700 Meters = 5 posts
800 Meters = 6 posts
