Character roles are a representation of your position (or occupation) within your village, or in the world of windstorm. For now our roles are limited until updated. Standard roles are only needed for now. It also goes without mention that your role is separate from your character's rank; though the two are intertwined, a role will never freeze your progression through out the role-play. The only relation a role and rank share is that a rank helps you earn a role in which you can apply for within your village, or your kage will grant you the title based on their list of requirements. Even though the words title and role share the same meaning, they will be divergent of each other for our site for the sake of mechanics.
✦Genin - This role is only obtained after you graduate the academy. It is also only obtainable once your rank is that of an actual genin.
✦Chunin - Similar to genin in terms of achievement, you'll have to pass the chunin exams, and your rank must also be that of a chunin.
✦Special Jonin - You can apply for this role at experienced chunin rank, or your kage will bestow the title upon you.
✦Jonin - You can apply for this position once you reach the rank of special jonin.
✦Jonin Chief - You can apply for this position at special jonin rank.
✦Tantei - You can only apply for this rank at Jonin level. It is a job similar to what Jiraiya did, and what Sasuke currently does.
✦Anbu - You can apply for this position once you reach the rank of experienced chunin.
✦Sanin - Only three ninja can earn this title, and they must complete extremely difficult tasks.
✦Kage - You can apply for this position once you reach the rank of jonin. Follow the Kage requirements if you wish to take up the mantle.
